Black + Decker, a renowned American brand celebrated for its power tools and home appliances, has introduced its range of large appliances in India. This premium brand marks its entry into the Indian market through a licensing partnership with Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies, unveiling washing machines and air conditioners for Indian consumers.
Amit Datta, Commercial Director Licensing at Stanley Black & Decker, expressed the brand’s commitment to meeting consumer needs, enhancing the brand portfolio, and simplifying home tasks. Datta emphasized, “As a global leader in home products, we continue to prioritize our customers by expanding availability in the region.”
This venture into the Indian household appliances market is significant for Black + Decker, considering the market’s estimated value of around $80.95 billion in 2023, as per Statista.com. On Tuesday, the brand revealed two front-load washing machines, a top-load washing machine, and three models of air conditioners.
Anand Dubey, CEO of Indkal Technologies, highlighted the growing demand for high-quality appliances in the large appliances business. He noted the rapid growth in penetration for washing machines and air conditioning, stating that Black + Decker’s innovation aligns with evolving consumer needs.
Dubey emphasized the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and personalization, stating that Black + Decker products are designed with consumers’ aesthetic sensibilities in mind. He underlined the unique selling points, citing the products’ appealing appearance, tangible value additions, improved performance, and unparalleled ease of use.
The Black + Decker washing machine lineup includes 6 kg and 8 kg front-load models and a 7.5 kg top-load model. Front-load models boast features like a BLDC motor, advanced Tub on a Hex-Net crystal design, and a triple velocity jet system. Smart wash programs tailored to specific fabrics, built-in heaters, and hygienic drum cleaning further enhance the machines.
The air conditioners, available in 1.5-ton and 2.0-ton variants, feature a minimalistic design and incorporate technologies like Infinity Impeller, CAD Sensor, Quad-Convertible, and R32 Eco-Friendly Refrigerant.
Consumers can purchase the Black + Decker washing machines and air conditioners from Amazon, Flipkart, and in-store channels starting from June 3.
